Why doesn't society reflect human desire?

Rich or poor, no one wants this:

* 58% of worldwide deaths caused by starvation. (source)

* A rapidly declining eco-system -- down 31% since 1970 with ocean fish completely running out by 2050.

* A human population explosion. 2 billion in 1927. 7 billion in 2012. This causes everything to become increasingly scarce and expensive.

* Possible catastrophic climate change.

* A global society dependent on a constant supply of non-renewable resources. All non-renewables will predictably run out. That is why they are called non-renewable resources.

We have long talked about the problems ...

It's time to get to solutions.

Solution's Problem  Before choosing a solution, we have to choose a problem ... unless there is a single cause for all these problems. This page introduces some of the newest ideas in science.

The Solution  Having defined a single problem, a single solution emerges. The challenge becomes learning how to wield our new knowledge.

In-Depth  This is written in a formal manner and explores this work in some detail. It also introduces a societal simulator that was built as proof of concept and a tool for prediction.

Must We Change?  This page addresses some of the debate going on in public right now, particularly concerning our faith in the economy and our technology to save us and our way of life.
